Arizmendi Emeryville opened its doors six years ago when the City of Emeryville invited the Oakland-based cooperative bakery to open a store at the location in 2003. They are known for their quality fresh baked breads and their high quality pizzas. Arizmendi is not your ordinary pizza joint sourcing 80% of the produce and ingredients to local organic sources. For dessert, an afternoon snack, or treats for your next get-together, Arizmendi has a wide variety of delectable hand-crafted baked goods. The menu includes traditional chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, cookie brittle, hazelnut short bread, ginger loaves, ricciarelli, macaroons and more!
The Arizmendi Emeryville supports an annual charity budget and gives a large portion of its leftover food to local charities. The store also commissions artwork from local artists and regularly hosts community events; the Day of the Dead celebration and a gingerbread house-making workshop at Christmas time among them.

Arizmendi is awesome! The quality of the ingredient really shows in the product. I am a huge fan of their artichoke pizza. I only wish they had a location in the Peninsula Area, (almost worth moving for…) but i make sure to stop every time i am in Berkeley.
