Rainbow Grocery is a cooperative grocery store in the heart of San Francisco’s Mission District. Founded in the 1970s as a community run cooperative, it has lasted throughout the decades and is entirely worker owned.
Rainbow currently hosts in-store cooking demos and product demos. They are an active member of their community and work to promote sustainable and equitable business practices.
They carry a wide variety of organic and all natural produce, cheese, and bulk foods. Beverage lovers will enjoy their excellent assortment of tea, beer, and wine. They also carry everything else you might need (or never knew you needed) on your weekly grocery trip, including cleaning products, bath and body care, housewares, a wide selections of vitamins, and even an interesting assortment of books.
